School gardens are helping learning grow beyond the classroom

Students are combining science, nutrition and teamwork through practical garden-based learning.

Across partner schools, vegetable gardens are becoming living classrooms where learners can apply lessons in science, environmental care and nutrition.

Local progress becomes sustainable when knowledge, ownership and opportunity grow together.

Teachers report that practical activities increase participation and help students connect classroom ideas with everyday life. The gardens also create opportunities for teamwork and responsibility.

Hobera Rwanda continues to work with schools and families so that each garden remains locally owned, productive and useful throughout the school year.
